Smelt Bay



Smelt Bay is a lovely beach only five minutes walk. away from Potlatch Haven. It has sandy sections, oyster beds, wild life and glorious sunsets. The beach leads to Smelt Bay Provincial Park which has a picnic ground and play area. It is also the location of the annual Cortes Days.

Hague Lake Beach



Hague Lake Beach is a beautiful sandy beach with clear, warm swimming and very safe for children due to the gentle drop-off. It is a ten minute drive located in Hague Lake Park.

Kwas Park View



Kwas Park is a wonderful area for hiking with a variety of trails, some old growth forest, the remains of a steam donkey, a spectacular ascent to a summit and wonderful views of both Hague and Gunflint Lakes.

Hollyhock



Hollyhock is only a twenty minute forested walk away. Explore the beautiful organic garden as well as their delightful organic restaurant for meals. They have a clothing optional beach, hot tub and wonderful body-workers, They offer a reasonable day rate for use of the facilities.

Mansons Landing

Mansons is the local community center with two grocery stores, the Sunset Cafe, a book store and a take out. It also the centre for many community activities. Check the sign as you drive by. There is lovely thirty minute forested trail from Potlatch if you feel energetic.

Easter Bluff



One of the most spectacular walks on Cortes. It is fairly intense but quite short. Details are in your welcome package. The views at the top are breathtaking.

Squirrel Cove

A store, excellent restaurant and marina. Home of the annual Seafood Festival on the long weekend in May.

Whaletown

Another excellent restaurant The Floathouse plus coffee and pastries.
